Hello and welcome to my incomplete and infrequently updated hodgepodge of links and assorted information of dubious relevance.
I'm currently working as a software engineer focusing on information management, search technologies, systems programming and distributed systems in Java and C++ on both Unix and Windows. In the past I've worked on compilers, linkers, and a variety of other software engineering tools. If you're interested in the details, check out my resume. I've picked up a few tips and tricks along the way that I'm happy to share.
Prior to going into software development as a career, I earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from UCSF working on structure/function relationships in serine proteinases. As a result, I've been keeping an eye on the progress of bioinformatics and protein structure prediction. The convergence between biological science and computer science over the years has been intriguing.
My other interests include reading, cooking, amateur astronomy, bicycling and occasional attempts at digital photography. Click on the links below for details and debris related to these various activities.
